Vincent Shlomi Bio

Vincent Shlomi, also known as Vince Offer, is the pitchman/salesman who owns and advertises for ShamWow! and Slap Chop.

Shlomi was born in Israel on April 25, 1965. His personal information, such as his family background and his education, isn’t known, but it was said that he began his career as a director, actor, and writer. In 1999, he released his movie, “The Underground Comedy Movie,” but it was slammed by critics. Shlomi had trouble selling his film’s DVDs, so he decided to show the film’s trailer on TV infomercials. Reportedly, Shlomi was able to sell 50,000 copies of his film by advertising his movie on infomercials.

Due to the success of his first infomercial, Shlomi decided to go into direct-response marketing in 2007. His first product was an absorbent towel that he called ShamWow!. In the infomercial, Shlomi claimed that the ShamWow! could absorb “up to 10 times its weight in liquid.” Consumer Reports confirmed this as fact. Many people were impressed by ShamWow!’s capability to absorb any liquid on any surface, and soon ShamWow! became a big success.

In 2008, Shlomi began advertising the Slap Chop and Graty. Slap Chop was a hand-held push-down chopper, and Graty was a cheese grater. Graty was offered as a free product if you buy the Slap Chop through the infomercial. Currently, Slap Chop is a very popular product that it generates about one million site results in Google.

Shlomi was often compared with popular pitchman, Billy Mays. Mays convinced people to buy his products by his loud, clear voice, and his upbeat personality, while Shlomi used funny lines and phrases with double meanings in his advertisements. But amidst Shlomi’s rising success in the infomercial business, he doesn’t consider himself as a salesperson. Instead, he claims he is in the film business.
